Bridging Borders: Delivering Sarawak’s Northern Coastal Highway
Across the rapidly developing landscapes of northern Sarawak, a vital new artery of connectivity is set to transform regional transit. Appointed as the main contractor by the Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA), a Sarawak state government agency, Naim Gamuda (NAGA) JV Sdn Bhd has successfully secured the contract to deliver the Northern Coastal Highway, Limbang Work Package – Section 1.
Executed through a strategic 70:30 joint venture between Naim Holdings Berhad and Gamuda, we are partnering with the state to engineer this critical infrastructure.
Engineering a Seamless Regional Artery
Delivering a major transport corridor across this vibrant region is a significant engineering and logistical feat. To navigate the complexities of this crucial route over the 48-month construction period, our comprehensive build-only scope moves far beyond standard paving. We are executing a robust civil works programme, encompassing:
This approach allows us to weave vital infrastructure directly into the region's economic fabric. The Limbang Work Package – Section 1 forms a crucial segment of the expansive 87.96 km Northern Coastal Highway. Designed to intimately connect major towns such as Miri, Limbang, and Lawas via a highly efficient alternative domestic route, this new alignment will significantly shorten both travel distance and time from Brunei to Limbang Town.
Furthermore, this vital corridor perfectly complements the Pan Borneo Highway, a monumental project where Gamuda is also actively delivering the WPC-04 package. Together, these routes offer a critical, uninterrupted link across Sarawak’s central and southern regions, providing seamless access to Sabah and Brunei through the Merapok border.
