Ganymirra and Majors Creek

Transforming North Queensland’s Energy Landscape

DT Infrastructure (DTI) has obtained the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Edify Energy and will serve as its principal contractor to deliver the Ganymirra and Majors Creek Solar Power Stations, located in the Townsville region on the traditional lands of the Bindal People.

Building a Resilient Renewable Future

With a total project value of RM1.64 billion, DTI is overseeing the critical EPC phase to deliver an integrated hybrid energy solution. Its scope includes key works to connect the additional clean energy capacity to the existing grid:

  • Design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of an aggregate 360 MWp of high-capacity solar generation, seamlessly paired with a massive 300 MW / 1,200 MWh integrated Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
  • Constructing a new substation and all associated transmission connection infrastructure required to provide reliable renewable energy and crucial grid support to meet Queensland's energy needs.
Following completion, DTI will also transition to provide operations and maintenance services, supporting the long-term performance, reliability and optimisation of both assets for two years.

Powering the Future of Industry

This infrastructure is meticulously designed to do far more than simply generate power; it is engineered to sustain the region's economic future while driving green ambitions. The development is expected to create around 400 jobs, alongside vast opportunities for local businesses and suppliers, ensuring the economic benefits of the investment are directly shared across the Townsville region.

360MWp

Delivering transmission connection infrastructure for a 360MWp combined solar farm.

273,697t

Removing over 273,697 tonnes of CO2 from the environment each year.

400

Creating around 400 jobs.

300MW/1,200MWh

Constructing an integrated 300MW/1,200MWh BESS.
