A Strategic Energy Gateway in Taiwan
As we continue to strengthen our marine infrastructure presence in Taiwan, the Kaohsiung Port Intercontinental LNG Terminal stands as a pivotal development in the nation's energy security. This project, our ninth infrastructure win in the country, focuses on creating a sophisticated maritime interface for the offshore unloading and onshore receiving of Liquefied Natural Gas. By providing the essential link between marine vessels and the domestic energy grid, the terminal ensures that industrial hubs like Dalin have access to a resilient and efficient fuel supply.
Delivered through a 70:30 joint venture with Dong-Pi Construction Co., Ltd, the build-only contract requires the execution of massive coastal engineering works. The project involves the placement of 87 enormous caissons to form a robust seawall, alongside the construction of a long-span connecting bridge and a high-capacity wharf. We are also delivering specialised platform structures, including dedicated zones for unloading and turning, which are engineered to manage the complex logistics of LNG regasification. This facility acts as a critical gateway, reinforcing Taiwan's self-sufficiency by streamlining the flow of energy from the sea to the shore.
