Across the expansive landscapes of southwest Victoria, a landmark step towards a cleaner, more resilient energy network is underway. Yanara has officially appointed Gamuda as the delivery partner for the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) component of the Mortlake Energy Hub, focusing on the project's crucial first stage.
Delivering an integrated hybrid renewable energy project across a 1,060-hectare site is a significant logistical feat. As one of the newest and most vital additions to our growing 2 GW renewable energy portfolio in Australia, this development moves beyond traditional power generation.

- Utility Scale Solar Generation: Developing and building Stage 1 - a 435 MWp solar farm to harness abundant, clean energy.
- Advanced Energy Storage: Integrating a massive 1,200 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) designed to store renewable power and dispatch it reliably during periods of high peak demand.
- Seamless Grid Integration: Establishing a 300 MW Connection Point that links directly to the existing Mortlake Terminal Station via a newly constructed substation. Crucially, this innovative approach enhances electricity reliability for Victorians without requiring the construction of any new, visually disruptive overhead transmission lines.

- Securing vital council approvals for public road infrastructure.
- Developing and delivering the project’s comprehensive environmental and operational management plans.
- Driving the end-to-end procurement process for all critical equipment and complex works packages.
- Ensuring the development provides meaningful local jobs and economic benefits that extend far beyond the physical infrastructure.
- The calculation is based on average annual Victorian household energy usage of 4,879 kWh (refer AER 2020 Residential Energy Consumption Benchmarks Report)
