Collaboration with Gentari

Partnering with Gentari to Power Malaysia’s Digital Infrastructure

As Malaysia accelerates its journey towards a net-zero future, a new, energy-intensive frontier is rapidly expanding. Driven by the exponential surge in cloud computing, digital services, and artificial intelligence, hyperscale data centres are projected to consume more than 5 GW of reliable power by 2035.

To meet the demands of this critical growth sector, we are partnering with Gentari (through Gentari Renewables Sdn Bhd) to deliver a landmark 1.5 GW of renewable energy capacity. Established under the national Corporate Renewable Energy Supply Scheme (CRESS) framework, this vital infrastructure will seamlessly integrate large-scale solar photovoltaic power plants with advanced battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Delivering renewable energy at this scale is a significant logistical and engineering feat. To navigate this challenge, this collaboration synergises the formidable, complementary strengths of both organisations. We are combining Gentari’s proven expertise in developing and operating over 8 GW of renewable assets globally with Gamuda’s robust regional track record in the delivery of complex, large-scale infrastructure.

A Catalyst for the Digital Economy

By providing a dedicated, bankable pipeline of green energy, this partnership does more than just keep the servers running. It actively reinforces Malaysia’s position as a premier regional digital economy hub by:

Attracting Global Tech Leaders: Ensuring the vital access to sustainable energy required to draw foreign direct investment and retain the world's leading technology firms.

Enhancing Operational Reliability: Utilising cutting-edge battery storage to provide hyperscale data centres with uninterrupted, highly reliable power.

Driving Decarbonisation: Significantly reducing the carbon footprint of these energy-intensive facilities, aligning perfectly with national net-zero ambitions.
