CR18 Station and Tunnels, Cross Island Line (Phase 2)

Backed by deep engineering expertise, we deliver critical infrastructure, from metros, roads and bridges to advanced water treatment, connecting communities and supporting a more resilient future.

Driving Singapore’s Rail Expansion: The Cross Island Line CR18 Station

Leveraging our well-established regional track record in the successful delivery of complex rail and metro systems, we have secured the design and construction contract for the CR18 Station and Tunnels of the Cross Island Line (Phase 2).

Awarded by the Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA), this landmark project is a defining milestone. It marks Gamuda's very first independent venture in Singapore without joint venture partners, firmly solidifying our position as a key, standalone player in the city-state's highly competitive transportation infrastructure sector.

Engineering a Seamless Urban Artery

Delivering a fully integrated underground transit system through a densely populated urban environment is a significant engineering and logistical feat. As our second railway and third major infrastructure project awarded by the LTA in Singapore, our comprehensive design and construction scope moves far beyond standard excavation:

  • Complex Subterranean Tunnelling: Precision-boring approximately 1.9 km of complex twin tunnels beneath the existing cityscape.
  • Modern Transit Hubs: Constructing an underground station strategically located along West Coast Road, designed for optimal passenger flow and community integration.
Driving Metropolitan Connectivity

This approach allows us to weave this vital infrastructure directly into the city's fabric whilst carefully preserving the daily rhythm of the community above. The CR18 Station package is a critical component of the wider Cross Island Line, Singapore's eighth mass rapid transit line. CRL Phase 2 spans 15 km and features six underground stations.

With construction works already well in progress and passenger service targeted to commence in 2032, this project is meticulously designed to do far more than simply move people.
