A Sustainable Hub for Singapore’s Transit System

The Gali Batu Multi-Storey Bus Depot represents our landmark entry into the Singapore infrastructure market. Awarded by the Land Transport Authority, this project serves as a cornerstone of our strategic expansion into the city state. The facility is designed to support the increasing demand of the Bus Service Enhancement Programme and the Bus Contracting Model, ensuring the national transport network remains robust and reliable.

The architecture of the depot integrates a five-storey main building, a three-storey administrative block, and a five-storey dormitory. This complex is much more than a parking space, it is a high-tech operations centre equipped with cutting edge facilities for bus refuelling, washing, and specialised maintenance. By housing all these functions within a single multi-storey site, the project maximises urban land use while providing a seamless environment for hundreds of vehicles.

Sustainability is at the heart of the depot's design, directly contributing to the Singapore Green Plan 2030. The facility is a pioneer in green transport infrastructure, achieving the BCA Green Mark for New Non-Residential Buildings. It supports the transition to a low carbon future with infrastructure for over 200 electric buses, powered in part by nearly 5,000 solar panels installed across the rooftop.

The environmental commitment extends to water and landscape management. A sophisticated rainwater harvesting system and automatic irrigation with rain sensors reduce resource consumption, while native flora is used throughout the grounds to support the local ecosystem. These features, combined with high efficiency LED lighting and sustainable building materials, ensure the depot operates with a significantly reduced environmental footprint.
