Hybrid Solar Photovoltaic Plant and BESS

Partnering with SD Guthrie and Gentari to Deliver Large-Scale Renewable Energy for Malaysia’s Digital Infrastructure

We have partnered with SD Guthrie Berhad (SDG) and Gentari Renewables Sdn Bhd through a joint venture to develop, own and operate solar power assets, including energy storage systems. The collaboration has since progressed with the signing of a term sheet for a proposed 21-year Bilateral Energy Supply Contract (BESC) with a United States-based multinational technology company, for a 680 MWac hybrid solar photovoltaic project supported by a four-hour battery energy storage system (BESS) in Perak.

The project will supply renewable energy to the offtaker’s data centres in Malaysia under the Corporate Renewable Energy Supply Scheme (CRESS), with commercial operations targeted for 2029. The partnership brings together SDG’s strategically located land bank, Gentari’s renewable energy expertise and Gamuda’s proven track record in engineering, construction and delivery of complex infrastructure and renewable energy projects. Together, the partners are positioned to support the growing demand for scalable and reliable renewable energy in Malaysia.
