METRONET High-Capacity Signalling Project

Xiaogang–Linyuan Line Civil Works and Electromechanical Facilities Project

Backed by deep engineering expertise, we deliver critical infrastructure, from metros, roads and bridges to advanced water treatment, connecting communities and supporting a more resilient future.

Smarter, Safer, Faster: Transforming Perth’s Rail Network

To meet the evolving demands of a growing metropolis, DT Infrastructure has been awarded a major signalling project by the Public Transport Authority (PTA) of Western Australia.

Delivering a critical technology overhaul across an active, live transit system is a significant engineering and logistical feat. This represents the world’s largest signalling project by route length. To navigate this immense complexity, we have formed a strategic 46:54 joint venture with ALSTOM Transport Australia Pty Limited to deliver this transformative contract.

With early works having successfully commenced in the second half of 2024, we are firmly reinforcing Gamuda’s strategic position in Australia and showcasing our capability to deliver large-scale, world-class infrastructure solutions.

Engineering a Seamless Network Transformation

Our comprehensive scope of works is meticulously designed to minimise disruption while maximising long-term efficiency:

  • Modernising Train Control: Supporting the delivery of a digital Automatic Train Control (ATC) system across the suburban rail network through civil design, construction and enabling works.
  • Comprehensive Upgrades: Seamlessly transitioning the existing, legacy signalling and control systems to a fully integrated, modern CBTC system.
  • Phased Delivery: Executing the rollout in careful, line-by-line stages to strictly minimise disruption to train operators and the daily rhythm of commuters.
Driving Unprecedented Capacity and Growth

Once completed, this technological overhaul will fundamentally redefine how Perth moves. The project is engineered to deliver immediate and lasting benefits to the entire network:

  • Generating a massive 40 percent increase in network capacity, allowing more trains to run safely and closer together.
  • Driving significant, long-term energy-saving benefits across the transit grid.
  • Implementing leading cybersecurity measures to protect critical public infrastructure.
  • Fully future proofing the network to seamlessly accommodate future urban growth.
