Shaping Parramatta’s Next Chapter: Sydney Metro West - Parramatta Integrated Station Development
Gamuda Engineering Australia (GE Australia), in partnership with MTR Australia, has been awarded the Sydney Metro West – Parramatta Integrated Station Development project, marking Gamuda’s third Sydney Metro contract win in Australia.
The project comprises two integrated components: the delivery of the new Parramatta Metro Station, and a transit-oriented property development.
The station works are valued at approximately RM2.54 billion (approximately AUD880 million), with Gamuda and MTR Australia holding an 80:20 consortium arrangement. Meanwhile, as part of the overall project award, GL Australia and MTR Australia will participate equally in the Development Rights Component, which is ancillary to the station works.
An Integrated Approach to Station Development
The project brings together the complementary strengths of three partners across infrastructure delivery, property development and rail operations.
Gamuda will lead the delivery of the Parramatta Metro Station, building on our track record delivering major Sydney Metro infrastructure. Gamuda Land Australia brings placemaking and property development experience to the over-station property development component.
MTR Australia further strengthens the partnership with extensive experience in railway operations and transit-oriented development, drawing on the expertise of MTR Corporation as the principal operator of Sydney’s Metro network.

The Parramatta award marks Gamuda’s third Sydney Metro project in Australia.
This follows the successful delivery of the Sydney Metro West – Western Tunnelling Package, Gamuda’s maiden Australian infrastructure project, completed on time in August. It also builds on the award of the Sydney Metro West – Stations Package West, which includes five new metro stations along the Sydney Metro West alignment.
With Parramatta, Gamuda will deliver its sixth station for Sydney Metro, further strengthening its role as a trusted delivery partner.
