TaoYuan City Underground Railway Project,

Package CJ18 PingZhen Commuter Station

Backed by deep engineering expertise, we deliver critical infrastructure, from metros, roads and bridges to advanced water treatment, connecting communities and supporting a more resilient future.

Future-Proofing Taoyuan: The PingZhen Commuter Station

Beneath the bustling urban corridors of Taoyuan City, a vital transformation in urban mobility is taking shape. Leveraging our proven, extensive track record in designing and constructing complex rail and metro systems, Gamuda has been appointed as the Main Contractor by the Taiwan Ministry of Transportation and Communications’ Railway Bureau to deliver the highly anticipated Taoyuan City Underground Railway Project, Package CJ18 PingZhen Commuter Station.

Marking our fifth major infrastructure project in Taiwan, this development is being executed through a strategic 60:40 joint venture with Asia World Engineering & Construction Co. (AWEC). Delivering a comprehensive underground transit network through a densely populated city is a significant engineering and logistical feat.

Engineering a Seamless Urban Artery

To navigate this complex urban environment over the estimated 96-month delivery timeline, our comprehensive design and construction scope moves far beyond standard excavation:

  • Extensive Underground Alignment: Constructing a highly complex 3.734 km underground twin-bound railway track utilising the precision cut-and-cover method.
  • Modern Transit Hubs: Executing the complete Civil Engineering and Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works required to deliver the state-of-the-art, permanent PingZhen underground commuter station.
  • Uninterrupted Public Service: Building and operating a fully functional temporary above-ground commuter station to ensure passengers experience zero disruption during the multi-year transition.
  • Critical Structural Safeguards: Implementing vital structural protection works for the existing ZhongFeng bridge.
  • Complex Relocations: Undertaking the meticulous relocation of the LaoJie river bridge to seamlessly integrate the new subterranean alignment into the city's geographical footprint.
Driving Metropolitan Growth

This approach allows us to weave this vital infrastructure directly into the city's fabric whilst carefully preserving the daily rhythm of the community above.

Once completed, this 3.734 km underground railway and modern transit hub will fundamentally improve metropolitan mobility, drastically reduce crippling daily traffic congestion and completely redefine the commuting experience for Taoyuan residents.
