Preserving Communities, Conserving Environments
Since the inception of Silicon Island, great measures have been taken to ensure that Penang’s fishing community progresses alongside the development, while concurrently preserving the local environment. The group is working closely with the Penang State Government to implement the Social Impact Management Plan (SIMP) and PSI Ecology Offset Masterplan (PEOM) that include:

Ex-gratia, bot and engine assistance

Planting of 200,000 mangrove trees and other suitable coastal species by 2030

Deployment of articial reefs and fish aggregating devices

Education assistance
