SBTi Validation

Our commitment to science-based targets is demonstrated through our validation by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), ensuring our emissions reduction goals are aligned with the latest climate science.

Climate Action

We recognise climate change as a major sustainability challenge and are dedicated to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. To reinforce this commitment, we support the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework and our Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions targets have been verified by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), ensuring alignment with global climate objectives.

Water Security

Water scarcity happens when the need for water by communities is not fulfilled due to insufficient supplies and inadequate infrastructure. Climate change will likely affect the weather patterns that lead to unpredictable and extreme weather events such as floods and droughts.

All Gamuda’s active operations, regional sites and premises are generally located outside water-stressed areas. London falls within a ‘high’ water stress classification, of which we have a project there. Targeted water stewardship measures are already in place in accordance with local requirements and industry best practices.

Eyes In The Sky, DNA In The Water: How Gamuda Is Evolving The Rules Of Environmental Accountability

A LEAP for Nature

Sustainability Governance

Through Gamuda’s sustainability framework, we are dedicated to upholding high standards of good governance to fulfil sustainability commitments and promote economic growth in our regional operations.
ESG-Related Policies
Our ESG-related policies provide the framework for embedding responsible environmental, social and governance practices across the Group. They establish the principles and commitments that guide our approach to climate action, biodiversity, environmental stewardship, ethical conduct, human rights, responsible procurement and inclusion.

Materiality
In FY2026, we conducted our first formal Double Materiality Assessment (DMA), evaluating each topic through two lenses: impact materiality, which considers our impacts on the economy, environment and people; and financial materiality, which considers how sustainability-related risks and opportunities could affect the Group's prospects. This approach supports our alignment with the National Sustainability Reporting Framework (NSRF), AASB S2 and global standards including GRI and ISSB.

Informed by engagement with internal and external stakeholders and validated by the Board, the assessment identified six of our 14 material topics as most significant, as highlighted in the matrix below.

Social Stewardship

Gamuda understands the significance of the communities around us and the potential impacts of our operations on their lives. Our achievements are closely linked to their support, and we believe it is important to actively engage with and contribute to these communities. We are dedicated to making meaningful contributions that support their needs and development.

Human Rights and Labour Practice

We prioritise and firmly uphold human rights in all our business operations. Our Human Rights Policy is aligned with the International Labour Organization (ILO) Core Conventions on Labour Standards and is a cornerstone for guiding our commitments concerning the 11 standards.

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, external vendors and suppliers.

Global Health Issue

In addition to addressing the global health challenges posed by COVID-19, we are actively involved in initiatives such as offering discounted health screenings for our employees, including sexually transmitted diseases (STD) detection like HIV/AIDS.

While we currently do not have specific programmes for other diseases such as tuberculosis (TB) and malaria, we are vigilant in monitoring these most common diseases across our operations to prevent their spread.

Biodiversity

At Gamuda, we recognise the importance of nature and biodiversity in supporting resilient communities and the environments in which we operate. We integrate biodiversity considerations across our projects and operations to minimise environmental impacts, protect and enhance ecosystems, and promote responsible development.

Our approach is guided by our sustainability commitments and supported by collaboration with stakeholders, including government agencies, experts, NGOs and local communities. We also leverage science, technology and nature-based solutions to better understand, manage and monitor biodiversity across our operations.

Through these efforts, we continue to strengthen our contribution to nature conservation and build greater awareness of biodiversity across our business.
