Biggest infrastructure project in Coffs Harbour’s history

With a focus on expanding our renewable energy infrastructure portfolio, we have signed a collaboration agreement with SD Guthrie Berhad (SDG) to develop, own and operate solar power assets (including energy storage systems) with an accumulated target capacity of 1.2GW.

This collaboration leverages the complementary strengths of both parties: SDG's vast and strategically located land bank across Malaysia, and Gamuda’s technical expertise and proven track record in delivering a growing 3GW pipeline of renewable energy projects across Asia Pacific spanning multiple asset classes, such as solar, wind, hydro (including pumped hydro), battery energy storage systems and transmission projects at various stages of deployment.

Gamuda’s expertise in delivering utility-scale solar farms – ranging from over 100MW projects in Malaysia to significantly larger projects in Australia – combined with SDG’s position as the nation’s largest landholder for renewable energy deployment, uniquely positions this joint venture to deliver fast-tracked renewable energy solutions at scale for multinational partners.

Our end-to-end delivery will be further supplemented by Gamuda's strategic stake in ERS Energy with their strong solar EPCC track record across the Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, Australia and Malaysia.

Through this collaboration, the joint venture is well-placed to create value by meeting renewable energy demand from both public and private sector users under the Corporate Renewable Energy Supply Scheme (CRESS) framework, while supporting the broader decarbonisation of Malaysia’s electricity sector.
