Engineering and construction giant Gamuda Berhad, through its wholly-owned sub-subsidiary in Australia, DT Infrastructure, has been awarded an AUD$1.6 billion (RM5.0 billion) contract for the Perth, Western Australia High-Capacity Signalling Project.
This project, which is the world’s largest signalling project by route length, reinforces Gamuda’s strategic position in Australia and showcases its capability to deliver large-scale, transformative infrastructure solutions.
Awarded by the Public Transport Authority (PTA) of Western Australia, the 46:54 joint venture between DT Infrastructure Pty Ltd and ALSTOM Transport Australia Pty Limited contract consists of the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of a new Automatic Train Control System to replace the existing PTA signalling and train control systems.
Upon completion, the project will enable 40% increase in network capacity, energy saving benefits, leading cybersecurity and future proofing of network for growth with minimum disruption to commuters.
