Gamuda clinches double wins in Taiwan with marine structure and utilities projects

Gamuda secures ninth Taiwan project, valued at RM3.72 billion

Gamuda Berhad has marked its ninth project win in Taiwan with the latest award of the Construction of Wharf and Connecting Roads (Bridges) for the Kaohsiung Port Intercontinental LNG Terminal Construction Project, valued at RM3.72 billion (NTD 25.58 billion) on 30 June 2025.

This follows its earlier eighth project win in March 2025, involving the 345kV Gangfeng-Zhongke, Zhongke-Hengshan Underground Transmission Line Civil Engineering and Auxiliary E&M System Design-Build (Third Section) Project, valued at RM557.2 million (NTD 3.83 billion).

The Construction of Wharf and Connecting Roads (Bridges) for the Kaohsiung Port Intercontinental LNG Terminal Construction Project has been awarded to an unincorporated joint venture with Gamuda holding a 70 percent majority stake and Dong Pi Co Limited with 30 percent. The project is expected to be completed in five years. The scope of works as the main contractor comprise the building of 2.193km of seawall consisting of 87 caissons, 1.2km of connecting bridge, a 729m wharf, platforms (including unloading, connecting and turning platforms), and caisson docks (including berthing dock, mooring dock, service platform and vehicle access platforms).

Meanwhile, the 345kV Gangfeng-Zhongke, Zhongke-Hengshan Underground Transmission Line Civil Engineering and Auxiliary E&M System Design-Build (Third Section) Project will be delivered by a 50:50 Gamuda-Feng Shun Construction Co, Limited joint venture. Awarded in March 2025, it is expected to be completed within 44 months. The design and build contract includes civil engineering and auxiliary electrical and mechanical system works, the construction of four shafts, and a 3,208 m cable tunnel.
