Gamuda advances Asean’s energy transition, leverages engineering DNA

At AEBF 2025, Gamuda showcased its rapidly growing 3GW renewable energy portfolio

As the global race to decarbonise intensifies, the transition to clean energy requires ambition and the capability to construct complex renewable energy projects with the scale and speed essential to meet these urgent green energy demands.

For a regional engineering group like Gamuda Berhad (Gamuda), tackling this immense challenge is a natural progression. The group is leveraging its deep expertise in construction and infrastructure, deploying the same end-to-end capabilities in civil engineering, design, project management and financial modelling, which the group honed on mega infrastructure projects, to now develop and build large-scale solar, wind, hydro, battery storage and transmission assets across the region.

At the ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF) 2025, Gamuda showcased its diverse and expanding renewable energy portfolio, which has rapidly grown into a 3GW pipeline in just three years with projects across Malaysia, Australia and Taiwan.

“ASEAN’s clean energy transition is a powerful economic driver for the region. Gamuda is committed to playing an integral role by applying our top-to-toe engineering and development expertise to deliver the critical renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure that will underpin this growth,” said Justin Chin Jing Ho, Gamuda Engineering Managing Director.

With ASEAN projected to account for 25% of global energy demand growth by 2035, Gamuda’s regional footprint is well-positioned to help power that momentum.
