Gamuda Bhd has achieved an all-time high construction order book of RM36 billion in its second quarter of ended Jan 31, 2025 (2Q25), consistently breaking its own record for four consecutive years.

For the quarter under review, the group’s revenue increased by 19% to RM4 billion compared to RM3.4 billion in 2Q24.

The growth in revenue was fuelled by stronger contributions from its domestic construction division as Penang land reclamation works picked up pace, with 91 acres of land reclaimed at the end of January 2025. Overseas earnings contribute 53% of total construction earnings, with the remaining 47% from domestic projects.

The higher quarterly revenue contributed 5% to the group’s net profit of RM218.8 million compared to RM208.8 million in 2Q24.

For the half year financial performance (1H25), the group’s revenue grew 32% to RM8.2 billion compared to RM6.2 billion in 1H24, driven by a stronger domestic construction division.

The robust contribution also fuelled a 5% increase in net profit to RM424 million compared to RM403.8 million in 1H24.

Looking ahead, Gamuda said its domestic orderbook is expected to expand next month with the imminent signing of several large domestic contracts, culminating in the growth of future margins and earnings of the construction division.

Moving forward, the resilience of the group is underpinned by an all-time-high construction orderbook of RM36 billion and unbilled property sales of RM7.2 billion. On top of that, the group has a healthy balance sheet with a comfortable net gearing of 39%, well below its self-imposed gearing limit of 70%.
