The NSW Government has appointed Gamuda Engineering to deliver the Sydney Metro Station Package West, a critical component of Sydney Metro. The milestone marks Gamuda Engineering’s second major Sydney Metro contract, following the 2022 award of the Western Tunnelling Package, further cementing its role in shaping the city’s next-generation transport network.

The Sydney Metro Stations Package West includes the design and construction of five new underground metro stations along the Sydney Metro West alignment: Westmead, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, and The Bays. Delivered as part of the 24km Sydney Metro West line connecting Greater Parramatta to Sydney’s CBD, the package scope will include the construction of station boxes, entrances and access points, station fit-out works and integration with surrounding precincts.

Gamuda CEO Ewan Yee said the appointment reflected the strong performance of teams on the ground and the trusted relationship built with Sydney Metro and the NSW Government.

“We are very pleased to once again partner with the NSW Government to deliver another vital package of Australia’s largest transport project. Being entrusted to deliver the Stations Package West is a testament to the exceptional work our teams continue to deliver, and we look forward to strengthening our relationship with Sydney Metro as we help shape the future of Sydney’s transport network,” Mr Yee said.

Gamuda will act as the Principal Contractor for the project. Laing O’Rourke and DT Infrastructure will join the delivery team, named MetroVista, as delivery partners.

Work on the Sydney Metro Stations Package West is scheduled to commence on Monday, 5 January 2026.
